The 65,000-square foot, three-story “green building” designed by Kirksey is expected to receive the GOLD Certification, the second highest LEED certification. Satterfield & Pontikes is a leading builder of green buildings, specializing in institutional projects.
Another Westway Park owner also received special recognition. BJ Services Company was a finalist in the Headquarters Move category, for their 85,500-square foot, two-story headquarters building. The BJ Services building located on an 11-acre wooded site at the corner of Westway Park Boulevard and Capital Park Drive was also designed by Kirksey.
In developing Westway Park, Wolff Companies has kept environmental issues at the forefront, including the permanent preservation of a 3-acre grove of 100 year of Texas hardwoods in Carolyn H. Wolff Park, at the center of Westway Park on Clay Road.
The Satterfield & Pontikes headquarters followed two other green buildings at Westway Park: a 158,000-square foot building being developed by Koll Development Company and a two-story corporate headquarters for the MedLeh Group. The arrival of green buildings to Westway Park strengthens its reputation as a place where commercial growth and environmental awareness prosper together.
And now another LEED building is going up in Westway Park. Dienna Nelson Augustine is building the 144,000 square foot, three-story multi-tenant office building in Westway Park. The nine-acre property sits at the northeast corner of the Sam Houston Tollway and Equity Drive. The new building is over fifty percent pre-leased. EE Reed is the general contractor, and, once again, Kirksey is the architect. The building is the fourth facility in Westway Park designed by Kirksey.
