Hunington Properties Acquires Land in Ten Oaks for New Retail Development in The Energy Corridor
Hunington Properties, Inc. has purchased 3.3 acres in Wolff Companies’ Ten Oaks, an 83-acre master-planned development in The Energy Corridor, for development of The Shops at Ten Oaks. Construction is expected to begin in the spring on the center which includes a free-standing quick service restaurant and an additional 20,000 square feet of general retail space.
“Hunington Properties acquired a highly coveted land parcel to fulfill their vision to develop needed food and retail services in this rapidly growing area within The Energy Corridor,” said David S. Wolff, Chairman and President of Wolff Companies. “The Corridor continues to see development of new hotels, restaurants, and general retail as the direct result of ongoing residential, medical and business growth that has brought an influx of new residents, workers and medical patients to the area.”
Located at the northwest corner of Barker Cypress Road and Park Row, The Shops at Ten Oaks will be developed next to the newest Hunington Residential multi-family project, The Vic on Park Row. The project will also be adjacent to Western International’s Courtyard by Marriott, which opened in 2015, and its Hampton Inn & Suites, which is currently under construction. The development also is located within the Texas Medical Center – West Campus, where Texas Children’s Hospital and Methodist Houston Hospital are both undergoing significant expansions.
Wolff Companies’ Ten Oaks, situated at the west end of The Energy Corridor, has more than 1,900 feet of frontage on Interstate 10 (Katy Freeway). One 6.6-acre parcel remains available in the development, which has direct visibility to Interstate 10 across the lakes connecting the west campuses of Houston Methodist and Texas Children’s Hospitals. The site is ideal for medical, office, senior and assisted living and other complementary uses. Park 10, another Wolff Companies development, is located immediately east of Ten Oaks.
Headquartered in Houston, Hunington Properties specializes in the management of retail properties, sales and acquisitions of income producing properties, lease negotiation representing both clients and tenants, and commercial development projects.
Since 1972 Wolff Companies has developed more than 1,000 acres in The Energy Corridor, including Park 10, Westlake Center, Central Park and Ten Oaks at the Texas Medical Center – West Campus.
