Expansion of Park Row Complete

Construction of the paving of Park Row through Ten Oaks is complete. In a public/private venture with Harris County Precinct 3, Wolff Companies and other landowners contributed the right-of-way and a portion of the construction costs to extend Park Row through the Ten Oaks section of the new Medical Center – West, a 170-acre area which is home to the Texas Children’s Hospital West campus and The Methodist Hospital West campus. The project closed the gap in a thoroughfare that now extends over 10 miles, from east of State Highway 6 to the City of Katy. It will ensure improved mobility and access for West Houston employees, residents and visitors.

Together, Texas Children’s Hospital and The Methodist Hospital System are investing over $500,000,000 in their first phases, which includes almost 1,200,000 square feet of hospitals and medical office buildings. When fully occupied the first phase of the combined facilities will accommodate approximately 3,200 medical professionals, support personnel and visitors.

With West Houston’s continued significant growth, it is crucial that the area’s infrastructure also expand to accommodate the increased traffic. As the master developer of Ten Oaks, as well as Park 10, located immediately east of the new Medical Center – West, Wolff Companies believed it was important to work collaboratively with Precinct 3 to complete the missing segment of Park Row.

In preparation for the extension of Park Row last year, Wolff Companies relocated more than 20 large live oak trees, which were initially planted along Barker-Cypress Road in the early 1980s. The live oaks are now being replanted along Park Row and other locations in the Medical Center – West.
