Construction Kicks Off on Next Generation Holiday Inn in Westway Park
Domestic and international business travelers to Wolff Companies’ Westway Park, the 150-acre mixed-use complex located at the intersection of Sam Houston Tollway and Clay Road will soon have another option for overnight accommodations. Clinton Investments has broken ground on a two-acre tract of land, moving forward with the development of its new concept, next-generation Holiday Inn Hotel. The 122-room, five-story hotel is expected to be ready for guests in spring 2010.
A next-generation concept Holiday Inn, similar to this one in north Texas, will be built at the Sam Houston Tollway and Clay Road. The new hotel will focus on business travelers working in the Westway Park complex and surrounding areas.
Holiday Inn’s new design, created to appeal to the Baby Boomer customer base, is evidenced throughout the hotel’s design and furnishings. The hotel will feature a full-service restaurant, business center, fitness center, extensive meeting facilities, Holidome pool and activity area. The new facility adjoins Carolyn H. Wolff Park, a three-acre urban arboretum, which offers visitors a quiet refuge from business at the end of the day. The new hotel also adjoins the Westway Park La Quinta, the first hotel developed in the office park. The new hotel is a short walk to the Plazas at Westway Park, providing visitors with several dining options.
Companies with headquarters or major operations in Westway Park include GE Oil and Gas, Cameron, BJ Services, Invensys Process Systems, Seismic Exchange and Superior Energy Services, all of which have a regular schedule of national and international customers visiting their facilities. The new Holiday Inn and the La Quinta provide an extremely convenient place to stay making their business travel more efficient.
