MD Anderson West Houston Opens in Wolff Companies’ Central Park

 

 

Congratulations to The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center on the opening of the new MD Anderson West Houston diagnostic and treatment center, located in Wolff Companies’ Central Park. Built to serve the needs of patients in West Houston and beyond, the $210-million, 260,000-square-foot facility is 50 percent larger than originally planned to meet a growing market demand. The Center specializes in the diagnosis, treatment and management of a wide range of cancers as well as treatment support services.

The opening of the MD Anderson Cancer Center represents a key trend in Houston healthcare where hospitals based in the Texas Medical Center have been moving beyond their traditional footprint to bring healthcare closer to where patients live. Patients can now receive world class care in brand new buildings – many with free parking – just minutes from their communities. A five mile stretch of Interstate 10 has become West Houston’s “Healthcare Row” with over $1.5-billion of healthcare facilities including Houston Methodist, Texas Children’s, Memorial Hermann and, now, MD Anderson.

MD Anderson announced in September 2015 plans to build the new MD Anderson West Houston clinic and broke ground in the next year. In 2016, the project was recognized as a finalist for the Houston Business Journal’s “Deal of the Year” in the healthcare segment. Two tracts remain available for development – a 15.3 acre tract adjacent to the Center and fronting on Interstate 10 and a 10.6 acre tract fronting on Park Row Blvd.

their new facility in Wolff Companies’ Central Park will bring world class cancer care
closer to patients in West Houston and beyond.

Two tracts are still available in Central Park and are ideal for healthcare,
hospitality, multi-family, hotel or retail development.
