Caldwell Cos. breaks ground on new apartment complex in Towne Lake
Cypress-based Caldwell Cos. is developing another apartment complex in its 2,450-acre master-planned community Towne Lake in Cypress.
The developer has just broken ground on Asher at Towne Lake, at 12700 Greenhouse Road, on the corner of Mound Road in the community’s Town Center section just south of U.S. Highway 290.
Community Impact was first to report on the development.
Caldwell Cos. declined to comment on the project aside from confirming that it is underway, saying it will share more information in the coming months when the community is closer to pre-leasing.
An entry with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation shows Caldwell plans a $1.8 million clubhouse and pavilion for Asher at Towne Lake. TDLR fillings are often preliminary and subject to change.
According to its website, the gated apartment complex will have one-, two- and three-bedroom units with stainless-steel appliances, quartz countertops, designer tile, custom kitchen cabinetry, spacious walk-in closets, soaking tubs, separate stand-up showers, and washers and dryers. Amenities will include a resort-style pool, outdoor barbecue pavilion and dining area, chef demonstration kitchen, coffee lounge, game room with sports simulator, fitness center, yoga and spin studio, conference and work rooms, outdoor yoga lawn and a dog park.
Asher at Towne Lake is the second Asher-branded apartment complex Caldwell is developing. The company completed the 330-unit Asher Oaks, at 21000 Gosling Road in the Spring-Klein area, in 2019 and sold it in 2021. It has since been known as Savannah Oaks.
Also in Spring-Klein, Caldwell has developed the 189-unit active-adult apartment community Cadence Creek at Gosling, at 21901 Gosling Road.
In Towne Lake, Caldwell has developed the 355-unit Lakeview Lofts and last October opened the active-adult community Cadence Creek at Towne Lake with 153 apartment units and 84 cottages.
In addition, the company has developed Thomas Park Lofts in College Station and is working on Mirella, a 504-unit apartment complex next to Oakcrest Intermediate School south of Tomball, according to its website.
Caldwell started development of Towne Lake in 2006. The community features a 300-acre lake that can be used for recreational boating and water sports. It also includes a boardwalk with waterfront restaurants, offices and retail; a waterpark with lazy river and water slides; parks; and miles of connected hike- and bike-trails.
At build-out, the master-planned community just east of Howard Hughes Holding Inc.’s Bridgeland is expected to have 3,000 homes.
