Satterfield & Pontikes Plans 60,000 sq. ft. “Green Building”

Westway Park has five major new construction projects underway, four of them company headquarters, and three qualifying as “green buildings” by the United States Green Building Council. Since Dec. 1, more than 380,000 square feet of new office space has been announced or commenced construction in the park.

Satterfield and Pontikes’ proposed new 60,000-square foot, three-story green building” is being designed by Kirksey.

Satterfield & Pontikes Construction, Inc. recently announced plans to build a 60,000-square foot, three-story “green building” for its headquarters on four acres. Satterfield & Pontikes is a leading builder of green buildings, specializing in institutional projects. Likewise, Wolff Companies has been at the forefront of developers who encourage green buildings.

Designed by Kirksey, the Satterfield & Pontikes headquarters follows two other green buildings at Westway Park: a 158,000-square foot building being developed by Koll Development Company and a two-story corporate headquarters for the MedLeh Group. The arrival of green buildings to Westway Park strengthens its reputation as a place where commercial growth and environmental awareness prosper together.

Invensys, plc. was the seller in the transaction. Invensys had originally purchased 12.4 acres for their western hemisphere headquarters. As planning progressed on the facility, it became clear that Invesys had acquired more property than they required for their plans. With the continued growth in the park, Invensys was able to recognize significant value in the extra land by the time they occupied their building last November. Invensys was represented in the transaction by Dan F. Boyles and Griff Bandy with NAI Houston. Satterfield & Pontikeswas represented by Ron McWherter with CB Richard Ellis.

In other news around the park…BJ Services Company plans a March move-in to their new headquarters, also designed by Kirksey. And the Houston Apartment Association will commence construction of their headquarters in the park this spring.

Located at the intersection of the Sam Houston Tollway and Clay Road, between Interstate 10 (the Katy Freeway) and U.S.290 (the Northwest Freeway), Westway Park is an award-winning, 150-acre master-planned development by Wolff Companies. Its campus-like environment has attracted multibillion-dollar companies such as the Cameron Division of Cooper Cameron, Invensys, and BJ Services Company.
