A new luxury multifamily project is planned in Houston’s thriving Energy Corridor.

Atlanta-based The Worthing Companies announced Tuesday The Heights at Park Row, a 342-unit family complex, would be built on a nine-acre site in its 78-acre mixed-use development Central Park. The area is on the north side of Interstate 10 between North Eldridge Parkway and Texas 6.

“The exceptional quality of The Worthing Companies’ properties and plans for The Heights at Park Row fit perfectly with our vision for Central Park to include national and multinational corporations, multifamily living and hospitality,” David S. Wolff, Chairman and President of Wolff Companies, said in a statement.

Office construction and job growth in the Energy Corridor call for more upscale multifamily housing in the area, the company said.

In 2013, the population of the area grew more than 8 percent within the Energy Corridor, which now has 2.3 million people and 790,000 households, said Clark Martinson, general manager of the Energy Corridor District in a statement. He said there is a need for more residential housing developments.
