Marriott and Hampton Inn headed for Energy Corridor

By Nancy Sarnoff

A Dallas-based developer plans to build two hotels in the Energy Corridor, an area of explosive growth where 6.6 million square feet of office space is under construction or expected to break ground this year.

The 135-room hotels, a Courtyard by Marriott and a Hampton Inn & Suites, will be developed by Western International on 5.2 acres in Ten Oaks, a master-planned development at the northwest intersection of Park Row and Barker Cypress Road. Ten Oaks was developed by Houston-based Wolff Cos., which announced the land sale Tuesday.

The property is across the street from the Texas Children’s and Methodist’s West Houston hospitals and within walking distance of such major employers as Wood Group, Mustang Engineering and Sercel.

Western International also developed the Residence Inn at Park 10 and the Marriott at the Interstate 10 and Park Ten Boulevard.

“We are excited to be able to provide more choices for the west Houston community, David Hightower, executive vice president and chief development officer for Wolff Cos., said in a statement.
