HAA and HAF Break Ground in Westway Park!

The Houston Apartment Association (HAA) and Houston Apartment Foundation (HAF) plan to break ground on their new headquarters and educational facility on July 18 at 11 a.m. in Westway Park, Wolff Companies’ master-planned development at the West Sam Houston Tollway and Clay Road.

HAA Executive Vice President, Jeff Hall, said Westway Park was the natural choice for HAA’s new HQ, because it offered a, “premiere location with easy access,” for its more than 1,600 members.

“The Houston Apartment Association and Houston Apartment Foundation are preparing for a new, exciting future,” Hall said. “Our new headquarters offers members a well-designed space and state-of-the-art training facilities.

Built on two acres at 4810 Westway Park Boulevard, HAA’s new building was designed by Osborne & Vane Architects. Less than two months into its campaign, Jack Dinerstein, HAF building fundraising committee chair, reports donors responding quickly to the opportunity to engrave their names on the marble-walled entryway.

And HAA makes three…the launch of HAA’s building brings the number of new projects under construction in Westway Park to three. Koll Development’s 158,000-square-foot “Intellicenter” and Satterfield & Pontikes’ 60,000-square-foot headquarters are also underway.

HAA’s new setting places it squarely between the Western Hemisphere headquarters for global instrumentation and controls company Invensys, and the”Intellicenter” building.. HAA also faces the newly opened technology solutions center for Equivalent Data, one of Westway Park’s three “Green Buildings” as certified by the U.S. Green Building Council.

Almost 85% of the land in Westway Park has sold. Prime sites are still available, ranging from 2 to 13.5 acres. The 150-acre master-planned, deed-restricted environment is heavily landscaped and strategically located at the heart of the “Techway” – that portion of the Sam Houston Tollway between US 59 South and US 290 that is a magnet for growing high-tech companies.
