Business is Taking Off in North Houston

Dear Friends,

Business is taking off in North Houston!

That isn’t a sonic boom, but a business boom at Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) and that’s good news for business neighbors, including Wolff Companies’ densely wooded, 440-acre master-planned business development, Interwood. To see available properties, click here.

IAH, the nation’s 9th largest airport, packs a regional economic punch of more than $19.4 billion. Many businesses not involved with aviation or cargo transport have moved near IAH’s international and domestic gateways as air travel becomes a critical part of global business community. The airport served a record 48 million passengers in 2005, an increase of over 8% from the previous year.

Now a bustling hub of business, more than 35,000 people work at IAH today, and more than 60,000 employees are in the immediate area— about equal to the workforce of the Texas Medical Center.

Roadway improvements on Beltway 8 and U.S. 59 have made travel a breeze to both IAH and Interwood’s convenient location at the North Sam Houston Parkway (North Belt) and John F. Kennedy Boulevard, between I-45 and U.S. 59.

In Interwood, FedEx operates a $12 million regional hub on 32 acres housing air, ground, trucking and transport operations. The U.S. Postal Service located a $60-million, 734,000-square-foot regional mail-handling facility on 90 acres in the development. Averitt Express, Prime Source, NuFlo Technologies, U.S. Foodservices, ExxonMobil Production, First Health, Administaff and Veolia Water have all found a home in Interwood.

First Health’s 80,000 sq. ft., two-story office building is located at the intersection of Heathrow Forest Parkway and Interwood North Parkway.

Available sites are ideal for office, service center, hotel, conference center, retail, and warehouse/distribution uses, and range in size from 2 to 16 acres.
