Wolff Companies’ Central Park Update: Park Row Extension Continues Progress

The long-awaited completion of Park Row is rapidly progressing.  Over the past few weeks, workers completed underground utilities and are nearing completion of Phase 1 paving on Park Row, as well as on Central Park West Boulevard, which will connect drivers to Wolff Companies’ newest development in The Energy Corridor, Central Park.  Announced by Wolff Companies last January, Central Park is a 78-acre development located on the north side of Interstate 10 between North Eldridge Parkway and State Highway 6.  Ultimately, the completion of Park Row through Central Park will create a major thoroughfare that extends a distance of 11 miles from Eldridge through to the City of Katy–a valuable relief route and commuter enhancement to Interstate 10.  Central Park West Boulevard will connect Interstate 10 to Park Row and serve as the primary entrance to the park.

Workers form up the last sections of the westbound lanes of Park Row in Central Park.  Upon final completion, Park Row will connect the park to Eldridge Parkway to the east and State Highway 6 to the west, as well as provide uninterrupted access to the I-10 managed lanes via the Addicks HOV access ramp.

Central Park West Boulevard will bring commuters to the doorsteps of the future corporate residents of Wolff Companies’ Central Park as well as to MD Anderson Cancer Center, which acquired 34.5 acres in the development as it looks to extend its world class cancer treatment services to the rapidly growing West Houston area.

When both thoroughfares are completed, Central Park will have superior access in comparison to other properties in The Energy Corridor.  Central Park West Boulevard will allow commuters to access Central Park from Interstate 10 on and off ramps without going through the Eldridge or State Highway 6 intersections.  Additionally, drivers can access the Interstate 10 HOV Toll Lanes via a ramp that connects to Park Row immediately west of Central Park.  This unfettered access will only increase in importance as The Energy Corridor continues to grow.

The Energy Corridor is home to more than 300 multinational, national and local companies in 22 million square feet of office space, the majority of which is Class A.  In addition to the exciting developments in Central Park, construction cranes abound throughout The Energy Corridor.  There are currently over 4.5 million square feet of office space under construction, most of which is pre-leased.  These projects include:
