Hunington Properties To Build Energy Corridor Retail

Houston’s Energy Corridor will soon be home to more restaurant and retail development: Hunington Properties purchased 3.3 acres in Ten Oaks, Wolff Cos’ 83-acre master planned development. Later this spring, Hunington will build The Shops at Ten Oaks, including 20k SF of retail and a fast-food restaurant. It’ll be built at the northwest corner of Baker Cypress and Park Row, next to Hunington Residential’s still-under-construction multifamily project, The Vic on Park Row. It’ll also be adjacent to Western International’s Courtyard by Marriott, which opened last year. Western’s Hampton Inn & Suites is also under construction.

Wolff EVP David Hightower (right, with fellow execs David Lane and David Wolff) tells us he’s already getting telephone calls from prospective tenants for the Shops at Ten Oaks. He’s been forwarding them on to Hunington, but says they’re anxious to get started because the Energy Corridor needs more food service and retail properties. David Wolff says the Energy Corridor is experiencing an influx of new hotels, restaurants and retail, fueled by residential, medical and business growth. With this sale, the Wolff Cos only has a 6.6-acre parcel with visibility to I-10 left in Ten Oaks.
